My brother just let me drive his new Ford Capri Laser. 2 litre petrol, 26 years old, goes like stink and purrrrrs...

Cars like this turn me on, fast and loud... And the older the better! (A lot like my men too..!)

I just wondered if anyone else gets turned on by cars or bikes? Or anything else?

Define "goes like stink". 1/4 mile, 0-60, top speed.... my Impala did the 1/4 in the high 10s, my Integra GSR was in the low 11s and topped at 153mph. My Titan is governed to 115 so that one goes by 0-60..6.8sec. Love the bikes too, I've hit 174 on a BMW K1200RS, as soon as the kids are in college...I'm getting a Hayabusa and a Nissan GTR.

Cars are a turn on for me too...I drive a fast car (check out my album on here for a photo of my baby). I just love them. Glad to see it's a Ford too. ;)

I love you. I also love GTRs. Im a huge Nissan fan and am in the 240sx world. I also dont understand go by stink, need you to Americanize that please :D. For my taste its alittle older than I would like, but its still looks fresh. Im all about 90's cars. At some point I would like to get another 240 and swap it for a japanese 2.0 liter SR, or even preferably turbo the original american 2.4 liter KA for better torque. Sadly for now I drive a beat up piece of shit Civic that I am starting to hate.

    Thanks Princess, that was good[IMG]

Back to topic, that car takes me back to my youth. Great old car, although it handles terrible in wet conditions (unlike me[IMG]).

Don't know what this says about me but got to have a fast car. Even now given a choice of a standard sensible car and one I can kill myself in there's only ever one outcome.

They've got a beautiful 2013 GTR at the dealer here....wife won't let me spend $96K on a car till the kids are out and she has her 370Z Nismo. So 5 yrs and counting. And a GTR goes like stink...faster than a Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche...well all but a Veyron, but I don't have $2.6M for a SuperSport. Got pics of the kids with a plain old Veyron.

If the back seat is big, I don't need the car to be moving.

My kinda' girl! I'm an old guy with several old Fords, one with seven litres and two four-barrel carburetors. "Purring" is okay, but there's nothing like the sound of a big American V8!

I like the Capri and it was a great looking car. They always looked like they were doing 160 standing still.

Backcheck - you're writing to someone from the UK so you should use international measures. 0-100kmh, 0-400metres are the accepted acceleration measurements. My fastest motorcycle did 0-100 in 3.2, which is possibly faster than today's more peaky sports bikes, and I saw 240 on the speedo when I rode it during a press day at Sandown in Melbourne (actual speed was about 230 allowing for error). The TZ350 racing bike probably did about 250-260 (and airborne over the hump) at Bathurst in 1980. The only place we should try those speeds is on a racing circuit.

My Triumph does 0-100 in about 5.5 but has no top speed at all (about 175). A Hayabusa is a waste of space as it's all revs and noise and a scrunched-up riding position, and you can't use half it's performance potential anyway. And if you did you'd have the problems I used to have and rip the rear tyre to shreds in a couple of thousand kilometres (the 230km/h bike cost me more in tyres than fuel, and I was never hard on it at all).

I prefer handling over straight-line performance anyway. My 2.2 Astra isn't quick but think a 45-marked curve, speedo showing 90, car glued to the road AND IT'S WET!!!!.

Don't know the 1/4 mile, 0-60 in about 10 seconds, topped out about 120mph yesterday but we ran out of road haha.

I was just gawping at the 1968 Pontiac Firebird, 0-60 in 6.8 seconds and the 400 V8 is 335bhp...

I'm dying to get myself any old ford, mustang, capri, escort, cortina.. Yes please!

    Haha!

It's an awesome car, growing up my dad was really into cars, and the sound of dump valve makes me all nostalgic and feel 7 years old again!

They are crap in wet. I love fast cars, I drive a piece of shit but I make the most of it's little engine.

'Suicide machines' (cars that look shit hot, drive fast etc) are my choice of car.

Eh, you can talk them down to $85k for a GTR :). The new Black Editions (which are ironically white) are fucking bad ass. Theres one around my way and just the sound is amazing. As I heard it I said to myself, that sounds like something tight is coming from some direction. Bam, disgustingly sexy 2013 GTR Black Edition roaring through. I pee'd alittle bit.

For less than $100k, its well worth it anyway you look at it. Its not just the straight line either. It almost broke Jeremy Clarkson's neck through a turn there was so much grip!!
