We got this jelly vibrator several years ago. Havnt used it in a long time. The other night we decided to get it out and have some extra fun. After using it on my wife she expierenced a burning sensation in the vagina. This is something that has never happened before. Even with larger toys. This vibe in question is not that big to cause soreness or irritation. Its maybe a little more than an inch in diameter and maybe 5 or 6 long. We used a little bit of KY for lube as usual and have never had a problem with that either. Im wondering if the material the jelly vibe is made of is suseptible to breakdown over time which could release elements of its makeup that might cause irritation. I noticed after washing it that that it had a sort of strong chemical like smell to it. Anyone got a clue? Can these things "dry rot", for lack of a better term, and transform to a state at which they could cause irritation?

Yes, have always washed before and after use. Instructions are long gone.
