So as some of you know me and mine are getting married.

Neither of us can come to a full decision on what flavor/icing/filling of cake we want lol

I'm going to list our options below, if you guys could help and put your opinion in, that would be great.

    Cake:

    • Vanilla
    • Chocolate
    • Marble
    • Choco/vanilla combo
    • carrot
    • creme

    Icing:

    • Buttercreme
    • Creme Cheese
    • Fudge
    • Rolled Fondant

    Fillings:

    • Raspberry
    • Lemon
    • Cherry
    • Vanilla Custard
    • Fresh Strawberries
    • Cannoli
    • German Chocolate
    • Chocolate pudding

Factors if they'll help at all?

    • It's a destination wedding
    • I don't like like double chocolate
    • He doesn't like coconut
    • The cake will be beach themed with pearls, real seashells, starfish and other nautical but classical elements.

I think a vanilla cake with a wonderful buttercream frosting with one of the lighter colored fillings to flow with the theme. When i think of wedding cake i think of lighter cake. i always think of chocolate as the grooms cake. It seems like marble to be too informal. My husband put his vote in as ranch flavored.

    Personally...;)

I'd use something like this as inspiration
    [IMG]
    (Royal Cloak Scallop Seashell)

And have Red Velvet cake with dark chocolate or raspberry chocolate filling and light MoP Cream Cheese or Buttercream Icing.

That's just me. And I didn't use hardly any of your options, I'm sorry.

Big day is January 1st, so you'll so no Mittimer around from the 31st - 7th, I'll be on my honeymoon for that week. :)

The cake that E and I have decided on is a layered vanilla, chocolate and cherry cake with a cherry filling. He loves cherries, I love vanilla, he adores chocolate. So it's kind of best of both worlds.

It's 3 tiers so each tier is 3-4 cakes. Each cake will alternate in flavor up to the top.

Steve, that shell you pointed out, is actually one of the types of shells I'm using in my bridal bouquets. I'll have to upload some photos once I'm done. I'm quite the crafty little Mittimer. :)

    Thanks for your input guys.

Its your wedding. No one has to like the cake except for you.
