Or anyone else that has information on urethral strictures (male). I am wondering if being aroused without release is bad (getting an erection, putting pressure on the stricture and then not having an orgasm). Any suggestions for diet? Anyone had the surgery to fix it?

I know it's a shot in the dark, but I thought someone might have some information. Thanks guys. :)

Do you mean this is something that happens naturally? Or that someone is manually exerting pressure to cause the stricture?

He's had it for a long time. From a sports related injury when he was a little kid. He's had one surgery to clear the tissue.....and possibly preparing for a second. I'm just trying to figure out what's best for him health wise. Like is it bad to get aroused and not finish considering the pressure? Is there anything health and diet wise that could improve his situation? Is there anything he shouldn't be doing, drinking, eating???????

A urethral stricture is a narrowing of the urethra — the tube that drains urine from the bladder — which impairs urine flow. This condition occurs primarily in men.

As I often advise people who pose medical questions on forums,
this is a question best asked of professional medics, in this case
    a urologist.

The only problem I really know about is Blue Balls, and that is generally taken care of
by masturbation, But in this case it is not because of arousal for too long
but because the urinary track is restricted. I would go to the Doctor and have the
tract scraped. Which is a simple procedure but very painful.
Is he having difficulty peeing. The bladder also uses that track.
and a total blockage can be very dangerous and even fatal.
So by all means see the Doctor.

Yes, we've had a few late night emergency room visits in the past 6 months. Both times a catheter was used.

So it's a known problem and if no medic has prescribed drugs or suggested any other form of treatment, how can you expect anyone here to advise?

They have, he's taking the medications, but I was really inquiring about a bigger picture. The doctors have been helpful to an extent. They really don't have any personal advice though. And they aren't working from personal experience. Sometimes they fail to mention things like, "If he drinks alcohol excessively it will exacerbate the condition.".
(should have been common sense, but Jamison's Irish Whiskey has a way of making you see differently! :lol

    Pirouette,
This is just me talking, So pay little attention if you wish.
You say that the 2 last times you have been to the emergency room they only used a
cataher, Could I suggest that you should have one on hand. I once had an infection
that I was taking medicine for and I couldn't pee so I went to the Hardware store
and got some small soft plastic tubing and sterilized it and used it with out a problem
And it sure beat waiting in the emergency room and the big bills associated with it.

Considering the massive amount of medical equipment at my disposal, I think you're suggestion is worth a try. I've been catheterized a bunch and so has he. They use a 14 gauge tube in the er....which really hurts. I was thinking of going down to 16 or even 18 gauge for the tube.

Thanks Big. I knew you'd have some reflections on this topic. :)

The one time i did it to myself
it didn't hurt at all But my blockage was only fro inflammation
not from a stricture. But damn did it feel good to get
    all that piss out.
