Aphrodisiacs are either pertaining to arousing sexual desire or a drug or a specific stimulant arousing the same reaction. Ylang ylang is a popular one and is notorious in many stores for that effect and can come in various bath oils and candles, soaps, etc. Believe it or not, the Spanish fly's crushed body is known as an aphrodisiac too: an actual insect. Some more include: oysters, garlic & onions, musk, quince, cheese, chocolate, asparagus, walnuts, pine nuts & grapes, tiger bones (illegal), rhino horn , jackal bile, snake blood, seal penis, deer testicles, deer penis... that's all I managed to find out. Apparently, we use them because we either want or desire to be better lovers. What's your perspective?

I hear chocolate has some arousing affects ... though that could be just because all women love chocolate ...

Not like I'd know from experience though...

Technically, an aphrodisiac is something that will help a man get an erection. The thing that will arouse desire is called a love potion.

Spanish fly, for example, irritates membranes in the body, and may cause the penis to swell a little. Chocolate supposedly causes a feeling of well-being that might resemble horniness. Works for me.

I love food like oysters and even cream cheese wontons, and of course dark chocolate! Aphrodisiacs ? yes , there are alot of those to me. I am very sensual. I eat with pleasure. Put it in my mouth slowly, feel the textures in my mouth. Chew slowly, feel , with each bite. Not always, but when I am in the mood for taking that extra time to enjoy.

I know chocolate is an aphrodisiac... so if I poured it on Ken then he'd be turned on. 2 in 1 for your lover, isn't it? :)

I don't know I really believe in aphrodisiacs/love potions but I had a particular experience a couple of years ago when I was living in Japan. One of the other teachers had a box of raw chocolate truffles that had been given to her by a student, and she was sharing them us. I placed one in my mouth and my body reacted as if I was having a mini orgasm. My heartrate increased, I became flushed, and said something like, "oh my god...oh my god.." The male teachers suddenly became very interested in watching me apparently "get off" from eating chocolate. I'd eaten chocolate before and never experienced anything like that, so it must have been the type of chocolate or the properties in the raw chocolate that had that effect.

By the way, have you seen the movie Chocolat? It's one of my absolute favorites. :)

Actually had Kilpatrick oysters last night at the restaurant.
Today am horny as a ram but that is quite normal for me.
So as for aphrodisiac properties, well the jury is still out but who cares anyway!
One thing is for sure though, Viagra and related compounds.....wow!

Just to clarify for some who might read this thread and misunderstand, Viagra is NOT an aphrodisiac. Its purpose is to help blood flow to the penis WHEN a guy is aroused, not to make him horny.

If it makes a guy horny, it's a mental thing -- he took Viagra, he's planning to get laid, and thinking about that makes him horny.
