For years now, my uneven breasts have been a real pain in the ass, taking their toll of my general health and self-esteem. So, I talked finally to my doctor about it, after dealing with this issue on my own for the past 25 years or so.

She agreed that it was time to look into a breast reduction and possible lift. Honestly, I would be thrilled with boobs that didn't sag, but that's not my main goal. What I want are two breasts that are the same size. I'm sick of stuffing my cup and hiding in the dark.

So, where I'm at right now is, setting up an appointment to see a specialist. My doctor is pretty sure that my health insurance will cover it, so no worries there. I have lots of questions about the procedure, and I know I can find my answers elsewhere, but I want to know certain things as I do my research and I'd like to talk to real women about this, not just doctors.

If anyone here has had any type of breast surgery done, can they please either post here or PM me about it?

How did the surgery go? Are you happy with the results? Did it help with back pain? Was the sensitivity of your nipples affected? How long was the recovery time?

I've known two women that had reduction, and they were both much more comfortable and relieved of back pain. Both said it was the right decision.
Sorry I have no first hand experience to offer, but I'm flat.

I also know someone, a family friend, who had a reduction and never regretted it for an instant. (She was HUGE, though...her boobs entered the room ten minutes before the rest of her :lol) I've had the "shoulder pinch" from bras and the upper back aches to show for my D's, but I'm still not sure I'd undergo the surgery even if I could easily afford it. I kinda like being curvy up front...makes me feel more womanly. *shrugs* Anywho, if you decide to go through with it, be sure to research the surgeon thoroughly, get references and all that jazz. Keep us updated, 'kay? :)

P.S. I must be the only person here who peruses amateur porn regularly...differently-sized/shaped boobies (with nipples here, there, and everywhere...), is perfectly normal. I've even seen porn stars with a B on one side and a C on the other. Very few people (genetic FREAKS :p ;)) have perfectly symmetrical bodies. That's just not the way biology works, sweetie.

Speaking of lack of symmetry, my right eyebrow is 1mm higher than my left. *ponders the significance of this*

Oh and CL, get your research done on a good doc, but don't for a second hesitate if it's for health reasons.

Wow...oh-kay. LOL! You've never been assessed for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, have you, hon? ;) But seriously...obsession with body symmetry is a classic symptom.

ETA: I did a little research, and apparently an "eyebrow that is situated higher than the opposite eyebrow" is an indication of a "wry sense of humor". Hunh. That is so spot-on it's scary :whoa

I have several friends and a couple of family members who have had reductions. Every last one of them wishes they had done it sooner!

I actually have a friend's before and after pics, if you'd like me to post them, or at least PM you the URLs.

Actually the only reason I found this out is because I've been through several pairs of sunglasses, all of which seem to run slightly lower on my right eyebrow... *shrugs*

OCD? A wee bit at times, normally I'm too lazy to get worked up about things.:lol

Wry sense of humor... hmmmm yeah I'll take that as a compliment!

As for the reasons to get a reduction...

I have lived with the emotional pain of being seriously unbalanced in my chest for years, and have learned to cope. My whole body is twisted and because of this, I have pain on a daily basis. I can't deal with the pain anymore.

So yes, it's being done for medical reasons. I'm not the sort of vain moron that would amputate part of my body just for looks, ya know?

Webster, thanks for the offer to show me before and after pics, but I've been looking at breasts for the last several days, so I know how dramatic the results can be. One thing that I found interesting, was I came across a pair of breasts almost identical to mine...and then there was the "after" shot. They looked great, but what was more interesting to read was the story about the woman behind the breasts.

She and I had a lot in common, as far as physical issus go, and I could really relate to her story. She said she was living a new life since her surgery.

I don't know how my life will change after the surgery, but I can't wait to see.

I hope it will be pain-free. And I wouldn't call you a "vain moron" if you only wanted to undergo surgery to even things up. I doubt that there's a person alive who hasn't wanted to change something about their appearance. And how about all the guys who've asked if there's a way to make their dicks bigger? I don't think they're shallow morons for desiring a change that they believe would make them more appealing to women. *shrugs* We're all only human after all.

Good luck with finding the right doc to perform the surgery :)

I also do not have any first hand experience with breast surgery but one of my friends did have a reduction for medical reasons. She had alot of complications with her surgery, unfortunately, but even with the setbacks she said she would do it again in a heartbeat. She said it was the smartest move she has ever made. That was about 2 years ago for her and she is doing great now. I also suffer pain from lugging around my large breasts, however it has not yet gotten to the point of reduction surgery. I hope everything works out great for you. Good luck!

UPDATE: I just got a call from the insurance company, and they ARE going to cover the surgery. I cried like a baby when the woman told me that. Now, I have to call my surgeon and set up a date and pre-surgical bloodwork.

    I'm so excited! :woohoo

    I'm also nervous. :nerv

    What a ride!

Congratulations, CL! Any more word on the final details, such as the resulting size? I remember you were concerned before that they were going to take too much. Is that still the case?

Either way, I sincerely wish you all the best! It's a big step, something you should be proud of!

    Doctor Yummy

Here's the scoop on my hooters...

Today, I called my surgeon's office, and I asked about the status of my case in regards to scheduling. I was going to ask to have it done in the beginning of July. That was what I was going to say, BUT...

After being put on hold for a few minutes, the receptionist came on and said, "We have you booked for February the 11th at (insert name of hospital here)."

I almost shat myself right there!

I regained my composure a bit and said. "I cannot do it that soon." I then gave her a list of reasons why.

She said, "Well, then we have a problem. Dr. Yummy is leaving."

My heart stopped beating and the room spun. I felt like I'd been kicked in the stomach, I think I might have audibly gasped.

I asked with some trepidation."What do you mean, he's leaving?"

She and I spent the next 15 minutes or so talking how about how cute Dr. Yummy is, home renovation, and childcare.

So, in a nutshell, I have a new surgeon and have set up an appointment to see him soon. Things look good for an early July surgical date.

At one point during our conversation I said to her, "Please pardon me, I tend to say innapropriate things when I'm stressed." I lowered my voice into my throatiest whisper and purred, "So, is this new surgeon hott?"

All I could hear for a good 2 minutes straight was her laughing and coughing. When she came back on the phone, she said she had to clean coffee off her monitor! God, I love doing that.

So, anyways, that's the scoop on my hooters.
