Why do we never see condoms in porn?
I believe they are now digitally editing them out of productions. I know they're not (major production studios, anyway) foregoing them as there is the law referred to as "Measure B" requiring condoms to be worn in all vaginal/anal penetration scenes.
In amateur productions, the participants may be skipping condoms, thus why you're not seeing them (they're not there). I'm not sure about what loopholes and workarounds there are that are in use by mainstream/major productions. Maybe careful and creative editing, plus removal of the condoms for "money shots" and oral scenes...
Good question. Wish I had a more definitive answer.
I hate condoms.......real life and porn. Just a barrier that gets in the way.
I just saw some in what I watched yesterday. Maybe depends on the producer and who is in the video?
I have seen them in porn.
I think we see them less often because they are not sexy and a turn on.
I was reading an article about "Measure B" the other day. "Measure B" is a California law so many of the studios are filming their porn in Florida now, where condoms are not mandatory during the production of porn.
I see it a lot. I think they are just being realistic. I guess the studios that don't use them require stricter testing from their actors.
If I see a guy wearing a condom in a porn I hit the skip button. Totally ruins it for me.
I'd rather see them wear a condom than loose one to something like AIDS.
If you are not taking precautions with multiple partners, then you are playing a dangerous game.
Single partner after being tested, have at it, but hope other precautions are taken so no unwanted kids come about. Seen to many people end up with a kid they were no ready for due to not taking precautions.
I'll get off my soap box now.
And this is exactly why you don't see them in porn. Lol
I find this to be the opposite. Seems they are being used more than ever. What gets me is when some odd color is used or seeing one bunch up around his shaft. I think nothing could be less sexy.
Concerning safety, it makes me feel less guilty to watch porn if I ASSUME all the players are nice, clean, respectable people who are checked constantly.
Honestly, I'd feel safer randomly banging a porn star or a prostitute than a random person I picked up at a bar or wherever. Unlike the average person on the street -- some of whom go their entire lives without bothering to get an STI check -- professionals in the sex industry are required (either by employer, contract, or law) to get tested on a regular basis.
California has the 30-day law and many studios require a negative result across the board on tests every 14 days from performers.
Also: Another reason you don't see that many condoms in pornography is probably due to the fact that they are almost more dangerous than "going bareback" during the prolonged sessions required of filming a scene/movie. Condoms lose all their effectiveness and actually become detrimental after about 30 minutes of "standard use." After that the likelihood of a break, irritation of/injury to the users, and all other "fun" stuff increases drastically.
I understand all the pros about condom use among the general public but in porn yes I would assume the producers have a responsible screening process they put all potential people through before letting anyone just go at it and letting the camera roll. At least I would hope so. I've always hated condoms myself and every partner I've had has too. One of my exes used to make me wear one if we had sex on a work night because she hated having to take extra panties to work and change during the day as my load leaked and made them wet all day.
Totally agree. I'm always amazed at people who don't get STI checks - not only are they putting themselves at risk but any future partners as well, due to the fact that STIs can lie dormant in your body for years without presenting any symptoms. All it takes is having sex once with someone who's infected and didn't know it, and early detection can prevent things like infertility and worse. The tests are easy and can save your life.
As for why you never see condoms in porn, it's the same reason you see so many fake boobs - porn is fantasy, and it seems people want to see big boobs and bareback sex in their fantasies, so that's what the studios deliver - even if it does put their actors at risk.
