This probably belongs in the venting thread, but I don't know, I'll create my own thread, lol. I seem to get odd injuries, once in a while. I've never fully broken a bone. It's always hairline fractures or a partial dislocation. I'm active, and shit happens occasionally, lol. The latest injury is a stress fracture of my cuboid bone in my right foot. I can't work for three months because I have to do heavy lifting at my job, and I'm supposed to stay sedentary. It takes so long because that area doesn't get a lot of blood flow. It's frustrating! I'm not a person who stays still!

So, I'll probably be on here a lot more. The only thing I can do at the moment is play guitar and masturbate profusely. This maybe the most epic duration of porn viewing in my life. Hopefully, I'll find a temp job so I can give my cock a rest. I don't want to lose the magic that is porn, lol.

Have any of you guys had to deal with long periods of recovery?

    Can you do upperbody exercise?
Maybe Pilates - or that bench/slidy thing chuck norris uses?

As far as passing time, can you take any online classes?

I'm sorry you have to go through that. I have not had any long recovery periods, but a friend of mine did, and she watched all of the Breaking Bad seasons. Maybe you know people that can go to your place to hang out to relieve the isolation. I don't know what type of climate you have where you live, but I suppose it is better to be cooped up in the cold season than not to be able to do fun things outside when it is warm out. If I was your neighbor I'd bring you some meals and offer to clean your house. I hope you recover well. Hang in there, and let us know what you've been playing.

That also happened to me when I ruptured vertebral discs and was pretty much laid up for a year and could only do sex standing!
Spent some of the time like you propose to do Y_D but it soon gets boring so instead I did some positive things regarding sorting things in my life for which there is never sufficient time.....like smelling the roses, watching the clouds, observing people, communicating with those from the past that you have lost track of and best of all really listening to music not just as background but be taken away into another world by sounds.
Also reading, lots and lots of reading........

Music is my life. It has been nice to focus on songwriting all day, and even filmmaking. I have a project in post that I need to finish. It looks like I'm going to be getting a temp job, so I don't go broke, which will be a good experience, I think. I saw an interview with Werner Herzog talking about how to be a well rounded filmmaker. Experience all you can, separate yourself from the industry when you can (which I really need to do), and read read read read read read read read read! lol

Thank you for your input and well-wishing, guys. It creates the warm fuzzy feeling on the inside. :)

I can totally sympathize with odd injuries, though I've actually broken/fractured 31 bones altogether in my life. But my knack for "wtf" injuries has been amazing. A few examples:

Broken left arm/fractured wrist - tripped on a piece of rebar poking out of the sidewalk, falling perfectly through a maybe 1' gap in the fence along a 7 foot drop to an asphalt parking lot.

8 stitches in the back of my head - at work, I leaned over a table to turn on a "Safety In The Workplace" training video and hit my head on a metal cabinet as I went to stand up straight.

Broken elbow, three broken ribs, concussion and cuts/bruises head to toe - jogging with a friend on a narrow trail in the mountains when my foot slipped out from under me and sent me tumbling 60 feet down a very steep slope of large, jagged rocks. My friend couldn't stop laughing because he had been behind me and had seen the squirrel dart onto the path right under my feet...I had slipped on a kamikaze squirrel and fell partway down a mountain.

And that's not even 5% the "wtf" injuries I've had, and not the worst...
