Female Vs. Male Orgasam

I saw an amazing show last night about the female body and our Big O's.
There is a whole new group of scientists studing the female body. One thing they have facts for is:

The female climax lasts about 20 seconds compared to the male who only averages six seconds! OMG!!!! I have to say that although they say ours last longer in order to move the tiny babymakers to our overies, I think God is a woman and wanted to equal the score somewhat. We don't always have the luxury of an orgasam while men always do..

In fact, they said 25% of females cannot orgasam at all! How horrible!!! Some can climax in unusual ways...like having the back of their knee touched! Some are multi-orgasmic. I'm feeling greedy today and wishing I could've gotten one of the latter two genes.

As a man I couldn't imagine having a 20 second orgasm lol.. I think if ours lasted that long it woould result in more sex related injuries for women xD. I do thoroughly enjoy watching my wife arch up and almost break her back it's an awesome ego boost!! I would most certainly dispute that statistic that 25% of women cannot orgasm.. Find one woman on this site that feels that she is incapable.. I bet we could set her straight :p

2 years I spent with my ex girlfriend and she couldn't orgasm. And that's unusual for me as I have always been with people I can give multiple orgasms to. We tried tons of different things she would build up to a point of it felt really good and something was building up but it would instantly fade.

I would like to know what show you watched. My wife and I are always interested in that sort of stuff.

Men don't always have orgasm. They almost always finish if it lasts long enough, but that's not always accompanied by the right kind of feeling to be able to call it orgasm for some of us. 20 seconds for females sounds exceptionally long. I'd say it's usually 5-10. As for 25% of women who never had it, I'm almost certain that most of them just didn't try the right things or had inexperienced or altogether wrong partners. Women are also far more emotional and if she doesn't have any mental connection with the guy it's unlikely that she will orgasm no matter how good he is.

I don't know about the numbers, but it certainly seems like my wife can't orgasm either.

I am not surprised by this. Like it or not, the original biological function (not saying the personal purpose) of sex was/is to have babies. Women don't have to orgasm to make offspring, but men do.

Well, I cannot speak from a male perspective. I'm just relating the data from the show. I'll have to ask my husband how often he just ejaculates without an orgasam. I've never thought about that!!

Some women cannot climax for a variety of reasons. It's a sad fact. Most often I do not than do. And it isn't his fault either. Poor thing. He tries like crazy though and is patient about it.
Maybe one out of five times I do. And by oral only. Once in a while with a vibrator.

My orgasams do last for 20-30 seconds. I thought it was the same for men before I saw the show. As hard as it is for me to finally get there, I would be one extremely pissed off chick if they only lasted for six seconds. Six seconds is just when the tingles begin!

I think the show was on National Geohgraphic...not sure. It was a series about modern sex scientific research. I'll look it up.

20 to 30 seconds seems like a reasonable duration for my wife's orgasms. Fortunately she's one of those mega-multiple orgasmic kind of women. She averages about one every 2 or 3 minutes.

The fun challenge for me is keeping her peaks and plateaus so close together (by cycling through her spots) that her orgasms never have a chance of actually completing.

Now for the boring science bit. The woman's orgasm is longer as the muscle spasms help pull the sperm in and along on it's merry little journey before the woman's defence mechanisms kick in and bash the crap out of the poor little swimmers.

Something else regarding the spasms: The frequency in which the vaginal muscles pulsate during an orgasm is the same as a penis' spasms during his orgasms. So, basically the vagina naturally milks the penis during a simultaneous orgasm.

I am aware of the discrepancies in duration and what can't be measured is the sensation of orgasm. Women I have spoken to report a more whole body orgasm than men, which tends to be short-duration and genitally-focussed.

Fear not because men can have female-type orgasms too. It's called Tantra, and it doesn't have to mean incense and candles and 3-hour sex sessions. But it does mean bigger and longer-duration orgasms. Mine are typically around the 20 seconds quoted and sometimes can even be longer, sometimes up to a minute or two. Also much more powerful, more satisfying and more whole body. Indeed the pleasurable genital contractions that most men call 'orgasm' are almost obliterated by my huge waves of pleasure right through my body from top of head to tip of toe. Prior to discovering this I rank my orgasms as a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10, and now are about a 7 or 8 (with the one or two minute orgasms rating a 10). \

The thing for most men is you don't know what you're missing until if you don't know there's much better out there.

+1 on this, and I think some of it occurs naturally with age and satisfaction. If a guy can have all the orgasms he wants, in every way that he wants, after a few thousand of them, he may slow things down and focus on the details, and make the experience last rather than letting it end quickly. I think that having a generous lover is key to making this happen though.
