Making Friends

I've been on here for a little bit and have been in chat a few times and talked to some nice people. However I haven't made any friends yet. This is not a complaint, but I am wondering what the best way to do it is. I don't want to read a post, look at a picture and just bug someone with a request to be a friend. Being a straight guy I am interested in female friends. Maybe it is because in reality I am a bit shy and old fashioned that I find it hard to find that balance between being curious and being an sex dog, though there is nothing wrong with that once we know each other.

the key is to post more! in 2 months you have 13 posts.. the more you answer posts (with real answers.. not just to be answering) the more people get to know you and thats how you make friends =)

okay only 3.87 a day (feels like more) but yeah post more, go through the posts to get to know people and people will get to know you better some may message you (or perhaps friend you), or you can hit it off in the actual thread finding a likeminded member

I have to admit that I am not sure what the friends part of the forum is for. Is it just so that you can add people and then see when they are online? What does it change when you are friends with someone?

I have had a few fun PM conversations with some of the people here who are on my friends list (I think they are anyway; I never look at it!) but I have also accepted friend requests from people with whom I've barely exchanged a hello.

If you are interested in having people on your friends list, however, I would say to post to threads (or start them) which reveal things about you and then invite the people who seem to share your interests.
