This is absolute great advice. I would leave it alone. If you can't tell him because he will be mad, then I would hypothesize that even if you talked him into it it would cause problems later on. Keep it in fantasy..... I also concur with CL, that it seems the relationship may be doomed if there is no communication. Sometimes, even with communication, things can go to hell pretty quickly if either of you are not mature enough to handle when things go down.....
