for me, there definitely has to be the physical attraction. but you also need to be "self-aware" as HardRocker said and you cant be happy with someone until you're happy with yourself..but remember you can't depend on anyone else to make you happy either. that being said, relationships need trust, honesty and communication. without those it wont work.
