It is election day, 2008. And I have but one question for everyone...

How much is gas where you live? Seriously...come one year from now, it will be interesting to see how much it differs from today as we will be under a new President. I'm also curious as to what it is in other countries, as...lets face it...our economy affects your economy and viceversa.

So I'll start off... Here in Longview Tx. it is $2.149/gallon or for you metric types... roughly $0.567 USD/Liter. For those who want to do the conversion... 1 gallon ~ 3.78 liters.

Suburban Chicagoland it is about $2.44

Just dropped to 90.2 cents/litre here. Prices peaked at around $1.40/litre here.

$1.959 here, but if you think the president has much control over the price of gas... wrong. The Congress has minimal control in the long run, but the dems will continue as the majority party, so we're not likely to see any improvement there. Assuming we'll a democrat in the White House who seems to be against U.S. oil production, gas prices are likely to go up. *shrugs* They probably will no matter what happens today.

Damn... it's like $3.50 here. I'll check and get a definite number for you. It's crazy high here!!

Just as an aside...as I was out and about this afternoon, about 40 min from here in Tyler, i actually saw $1.97, and the majority of others were $1.99. I didn't fill up since I did yesterday...but...I got my license at 18, and at that time, gas was already over $2 in California. So for the first time ever in my life *since i got my license* I will be paying under $2 a gallon, albeit in another state, lol.

No surprise here. Anyone familiar with basic economic principles knows the price of gasoline and other commodities goes up and down like a prostitute's panties.
