Does semen have a smell by itself or does the "sex smell" only happen when semen is mixed with vaginal secretions after orgasm?

To me, semen has a kind of bleach-like smell.

I dont like the smell at all unfortunately.

read online that maybe changing diet may remove the bleach like smell, like eating different kind of fruits or food.
