I'm no longer depressed :)

My 33rd birthday was Saturday the 12th. When I saw my mom and grandma a few weeks ago they'd said they'd deposit some money into my bank account for my birthday. It's now Wednesday (nearly Thursday) and so far there have been no deposits. Maybe they changed their minds or maybe they just forgot. The Swede says I should email my mom and remind her, but I don't want to lower myself to reminding my mother to give me my birthday present.

This might seem petty and selfish of me, but...

Goddammit, I want my fucking birthday present!

Aww, Happy Birthday, Puss! Yeah, you could totally tell them about what kind of day your birthday was. If you give them a hint, maybe they'll remember. It would hurt my feelings if my mama forgot my birthday...I mean, I understand how you feel...In my opinion, it isn't so much the money, it's the warm feeling you get when someone remembers to do something special for you on your special day. If that's the only thing they could do, send you money, and they forgot to do that, I would feel a little dejected. And yeah, I do remember my Mother and Grandmother's birthdays in return. Thanks for listening to me whine, everyone. I know they didn't forget my birthday because I received a card in the mail a few days ago, but I guess they must have forgotten to make the deposit. Now I need to figure out how to say "where the fuck is my birthday present?" in the most diplomatic way possible.

Second, I don't know WTF I'd do about the present. Honestly, I think if it were me, I'd just let it ride. It's bound to come up again sometime in the future, at which point you can let on that you didn't get one. You'll be the bigger person, and they'll feel bad that they forgot. That way if it's just a technical glitch or something you won't come across as greedy, and if not, their guilt will ensure a timely present next year.

I sent my mom an email thanking her for the card and telling her about what a great birthday I had. The Swede brought me breakfast in bed and took me to the movies, etc, etc. Oh, and I started therapy and we've started collecting wine..

And BY THE WAY...grandma said she was going to put some money in my account (well they both said that, but nevermind) and so far I haven't received anything.
