As far as I'm concerned, the vibe doesn't ruin the intimacy, it's a man that doesn't know how to use one that kills the mood. I prefer to use it on myself and let him assist in other ways.

As far as the intimacy issue, there's no reason why using a vibe on your partner (or even her using it on herself while you watch) is going to take away any intimacy. The vibe is just a tool intended to enhance the experience, but it's not the main attraction. It doesn't replace the feeling of skin on skin and shared bodily warmth.
