I've never tried using nair because I've always heard that it doesn't work well and can irritate skin, but since you guys seem to like it I'm definately going to try it now.

Tell him that shaved skin is more sensitive. My wife likes when I shave my balls...she says my nuts taste sweet when they are shaven. Of course, maybe that's because I carry two coffees and six donuts.

I would recommend just being direct about it, and say something like you're sick of getting pubes in your mouth and would therefore like him to trim and/or shave his balls, etc. There's no need to step around his feelings. Most men prefer that you be as direct as possible, because hints of all kinds: subtle, medium, or obvious, don't work on them.

I have had terrible luck with Nair. After hearing all your suggestions, I even gave it a try again this summer. Burning, irritation, and it didn't even remove all the hair! It is NOT recommended for pubic areas, and for damn good reason IMO. I'm very happy it works for you, Hiker. However it seems the majority that post here have an opposite experience.

Try it if you like, but I strongly suggest trying it on a SMALL area away from the pubic region first.

Everyone is different. It sucks that you have had bad experiences, but most people seem to do OK with shaving. You made zero references to your technique, so we don't know if there's anything to suggest that might make your experience more enjoyable. If shaving results in irritation, trimming might be a better option.

When it comes to pubic hair, I know what I want in a guy. Balls and shaft shaved smooth, and hair on top trimmed short (but not bald). For me, guys who shave the whole package smooth are a bit too feminine looking for me. A lot of male porn stars do the whole bald thing, and I am just not a fan.

As for asking your guy, I think you are on firm ground to be pretty direct with this one. Tell him, "Honey, it's time to go the barber". Completely agree. The one time I did a full shave lead only to embarrassment. Not that I care what another man's penis looks like but I suggest not getting too carried away with the razor.
