I don't believe monogamy is as much as issue with the europenas, again all you people from the continent feel free to discredit me!!
Well, I'm drawing my conclusions from observation. Polyamory (I think your example would fit in this category, someone correct me if I'm wrong) is a fringe lifestyle. There are still far more monogamous couples out there than those who include another person in the relationship, however that's done.

I don't think anyone's ever researched men's opinions on the subject. There are some guys here who would be more than happy to have an arrangement like that, but several guys on is nowhere near indicative of the average male's feelings on the subject. Current research on men and relationships suggests that guys are more commitment-minded than women. So...

I would bet that more guys than women are open to the idea of a threesome...but that's easily enough explained by the Mars/Venus thing. Men, in general, don't have much trouble with NSA* sex. That's just the way you all are wired. We're wired to be more territorial, to be more protective of our partner. It made evolutionary sense for women to be this way because our female ancestors needed someone to look after them and their young offspring. Letting your mate sniff around another woman's animal-skinned behind could mean the beginning of the end of that support!

So much for openmindedness.
I didn't see any such comments in this thread. *shrug* CL, you are far from close-minded IMO. You have your opinions, and express them when asked, but you do not force them on others. My comments/examples were backing you up, not the other way around. Unless you're talking about someone else.

All I agreed with was that double standards do exist. I didn't mean any specific double standard, and I certainly didn't mean to single you out, if that's how you took it. *hugs*

If that were true, I'd still be here.

Please pardon my emotional state, Heely, I didn't mean to sound like a kicked pup. I am close to getting my period, and you know what that does to a gal. Pehaps all I need to get fucked deep and hard by a gal with a strap-on while I suck a guy's cock as he's taking it in the pooper by another man wearing spike heels and fishnet stockings and my husband looks on jerking off til he cums all over my face. Yeah, that oughta cheer me up.

Well, the bisexuality isn't the thing. Both partners have to agree to either be or not be monogamous. I for one, value it, unless my SO and I worked some other arrangement out together. But, that doesn't mean I don't respect those that have open relationships. They just aren't for me, at this point.

I have... my bf is really not keen on the idea, we've talked about it, usually he considers it for 20 minutes tops then its a firm no for a few more months before he'll even think about it again

My husband once had a FMF with his x-wife and a woman. His wife left him for the woman, so that really backfired on him, huh? At least he's never pressured me to have a FMF.

Well,I would have to agree with puss, for the simple fact,my hubby knows I am bisexual and doesn't bitch or anything. If he was,I wouldn't be mad, leave him or anything.Actually,I think it's kind of a turn on. besides, what's wrong with it if you are careful

No sense being a prude, have fun while you can.......

Huge double standard here. We all see that.

But what most women don't see is, that for most of their men, the idea of you being bisexual isn't about "seeing" you with another woman as much as it is about getting to be with other women on a regular basis while you're thinking it's for "you".

I would say all of this would depend on situation.

Lets take a bisexual husband for example.

Situation: Husband is strictly sexualy bisexual, which means he has no "outer relationship" just sexual expierences. Most wives, i would assume, would still have a problem, but those who are just worried about who hes going to come home to or tell he loves at the end of the night, would probably be fine sense his being bi is purly sexual.

On the otherhand, should he be both sexual and emotionly bi, i doubt any wife would be ok (minus the few exceptions as always).

To turn it arround, most guys fantisies are of a SEXUALY BI wife or GF... A man married to a woman wants to know who shes gona come home to at the end of the night (usualy). So even to the men, i believe most would NOT go for a Emotionaly and sexualy bi wife either. (there are exceptions of course) But all this is assumptions following traditional marriage.

Basicly, i dont think there would be a double standard.

Ok, I will contribute. I have not read the whole thread but I am in the no way camp.
I don't particularly care if a man is bisexual, he just will never be my partner.
And to me there is no double standard. If a man did not like that I was bisexual he can break up with me, fine.
My current partner was told. He said it didn't matter to him as long as I was faithful.

To me however, I find the thought of my man with another man repugnant. So I don't go there.
I live with a raving queen btw, so I am not homophobic, in fact I have one straight friend. So it just has to do with MY man.
