That sounds familiar: Paxil and Lexapro are SSRIs, and they have a rep for causing loss of libido and/or anorgasmia (delayed, or inability to, orgasm). Many docs will prescribe a small dose of Wellbutrin to counteract this effect, so you might want to talk to your doc about it. If you suffer solely from PD/GAD, there are other non-antidepressant meds you can try that may work just as well, if not better. Benzos (e.g. Xanax) are first-line anxiety meds that won't cause sexual SEs. In fact, Xanax is specifically indicated for panic disorder (I can attest that it works like a charm!).
General practitioners are the worst docs for prescribing psychiatric meds; they just aren't that informed about them. If you really want the best possible meds for a MI, see a psychiatrist--that's their field of expertise.
