Bookmarking Websites

At least this seems to be what they are called.

These are sites like Furl, Jeqq, Celesto, etc. that are listed in the bottom left corner of every post here on SF.

How do you personally make use of them?
Which one(s) seem to be the best?

Feel free to post any experiences that you have had using them- good or bad.

What are they? and what do they do?

As best as I can explain them, these are web sites that allow you to bookmark you favorite sites and that sort of thing. One of the obvious advantages is that you can bookmark your favorite sites and keep them online and thus accessible from any computer you happen to be on. It also keeps certain"adult" websites that you bookmark from showing up on your own Internet Explorer "favorites" list. These sites that I am asking about seem to offer many additional features to what I have tried to explain here. But I'm really not sure if I am even explaining them correctly and that is why I started this thread.

I see Ryan or some moderator has moved this thread from the lounge to here. I guess I understand why, but it probably means that few people will ever see it as few people seem to check out this part of the forum. And really, my thread really isn't a form of "news or announcements" either.

Yes, I am wondering if using one of these sites such as Furl or another of those with icons to the left of each post might make it easier somehow to get back to any particular thread if you want to be able to find it quickly later on. But I haven't investigated it myself yet. I was hoping that someone else more knowledgable might enlighten me (us).

Or better yet, if Ryan could find the time to post an explanation of these sites and explain briefly exactly what their usefulness might be.

Perhaps another reason for his having seven of these services is that they provide some kind of renumeration for his posting their icons, but that is purely a guess and I could be completely wrong. It's his business anyway and not mine. Mostly I just want to understand these services and learn about their uses and find out which is best.

Wow! Much more response to my original post AFTER it was moved here than I ever dreamed of. Still not clear as to why it was moved to "site news and announcements", but at least the subject has attracted some attention. Seems like more than a few of us are curious about these little suckers to the left of each post. Hopefully Ryan will enlighten us a bit about these services when he has a bit of free time.
